I was surprised to see from your invoice of Date that the cost of the work is Invoice amount. This amount is £0.00 more than the fixed price that was agreed and is stated in your original quotation of Date of quotation . This fixed price was the basis upon which I entered into a contract with you.
Though you claim the increase is due to Reasons for increase this has no bearing on our contract. There was no agreement between us that I should bear any extra costs. We agreed an exact price for the work and therefore my contractual obligation is simply to pay the amount stated in your quotation.
I therefore enclose a cheque for £0.00?, being the amount of the original quotation, in full and final settlement.
