It was implied in the contract between us that you would carry out the work with reasonable care and skill and would use materials of a reasonable quality. These standards are requirements of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. The above defects show that you have failed to fulfill these legal obligations. I therefore have a right to make a claim against you for breach of contract.

Since you have failed to contact me to remedy this matter, I have had no alternative but to obtain Number of estimates estimates for the cost of repairing the problems. These repairs will cost at least £ Cost, as indicated on the lowest estimate. In these circumstances I am legally entitled to expect you to pay for this work. However, whilst reserving my rights to make a claim against you, I am prepared to give you an opportunity to carry out free repairs to rectify the problems within a reasonable time at no charge to me.

Please respond to my letter by Date plus 14 days with your proposals to remedy this matter.
